Something about yourself

Monica Villarreal is an independent artist and game designer who

focuses on creative storytelling by pushing the boundaries of various softwares. Through Twine and Unity, her work often embraces the absurdity of  the everyday, inviting viewers to adopt a similar playful perspective.

Limited by my coding capabilities, I still find ways to express myself and tell stories creatively. I tend to rely heavily on humor, because I have found it to be one of the most accessible languages to communicate with others. My goal is to have people who interact with my content feel a new type of emotion—whether it is joy, sadness, or confusion, I aim for my projects to have an affective impact on others.

I am experienced in Unity, Twine, Premiere Pro, and Canva, and I have some experience with Procreate and ZBrush. Post-graduation, I plan to continue teaching myself new skills, learn how to code, and create more projects that make people’s day just a bit brighter.
